East Bengal FC sack Khalid Jamil after a poor season

 EAST BENGAL head coach Khalid Jamil has been relieved of his duties at the club. The news came days after East Bengal lost to Bengaluru FC in the final of the Super Cup. 

41 year old was the winner of I-League with Aizawl FC in his maiden season with the team last season. On the successful year with the Aizawl, he was roped in by East Bengal to repeat a similar feat. East Bengal were in the hunt for the I-League title till the last game of the season while depending on other clubs' results, having lost out on the chance to win it themselves.

East Bengal have parted ways with Khalid Jamil failing to win any national silverware

Subhash Bhowmick, was appointed as added help in coaching and admininistration as a last resort in winning the title but it turned futile. The Super Cup was the only hope to secure a national trophy after 14 years. East Bengal lost 4-1 to Bengaluru FC in the final of the Super Cup. Shortly after the final, Khalid Jamil was relieved of duties as head coach.
