IPL 2018: Delhi Daredevils matches could be shifted to Thiruvananthapuram

TO GIVE players a respite from the Delhi’s toxic smog and air pollution, the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) is soon set to discuss with BCCI about the possibility of shifting Delhi Daredevils’ home matches to Thiruvananthapuram.

Sources said that in a meeting set to be on December 11, KCA secretary Jayesh George will take up the issue in the BCCI’s special general meeting (SGM) and suggest a change in venue from Feroz Shah Kotla to Greenfield International stadium. As reported by IANS, George said,

"We, the KCA would only be glad to host the matches here, as we have proved our mettle in organising an international T20 match and that too in a brand new stadium. We will put up our hands, if this option is there if any team asks for our support."

The recently concluded Delhi Test between India and Sri Lanka witnessed breathing issues for various players. While Suranga Lakmal and Mohd Shami threw up during the match, the visitors were seen wearing masks during the second and the fourth day.
