#TFGinterview: Bibiano Fernandes says that he Is open To any new challenge, talks recent fight

2016 has been a solid year for ONE Bantamweight champion Bibiano Fernandes.

Bibiano defended his title twice this year

He successfully defended his title twice this year with the latest win coming up against Reece McLaren earlier this month at ONE Championship: Age of Domination. Bibiano won the fight via split decision and it turned out to be one of the highlights of the show.

When asked about how Reece was different from all the opponents that he had faced, Bibiano saw the lighter side of things.

Bibiano Fernandes: Well the difference is he broke my nose.

With so many great achievements already on his resume, he is grateful that he had them and ensures that he has no dream opponent for the time being.

Bibiano Fernandes: I don't really have a dream opponent. In my career I've fought some of the best in the world and I'm grateful for the opportunity.

There has been buzz about Bibiano moving to free agency once his contract with ONE FC runs out and he is apparently waiting to see what ONE has in offer for him.

Bibiano Fernandes: Right now it's all up in the air. I'm waiting to hear what ONE championship has for me.

Bibiano is undefeated in ONE FC with eight wins so far in the promotion. He is adamant about the fact that he has reached a certain level in the promotion. But this does not slow down his desire to continue breaking records.

Bibiano Fernandes: I've reached a certain level in ONE, and I want to continue to break records.

With his future currently uncertain, Bibiano is sure about one thing: he is willing to take up any challenge.

Bibiano Fernandes: I'm open to any new challenge. I live for a good challenge. Whether it will ever happen, who knows.

Currently 36, Bibiano has a professional record of 20-3 to his name and irrespective of where he ends up next year, Bibiano is one of the Bantamweight fighters that we should keep an eye on when 2017 arrives.
