WWE Clash of Champions results: Title win for Roman Reings, Owens retains

RAW'S FIRST BRAND specific pay-per-view was wrapped up last night. Almost all of the championships present on Raw were on the line and here is how the pay-per-view turned out to be.

Charlotte, TJ Perkins and New Day retain

Charlotte, TJ Perkins and New Day defended their respective championships at the pay-per-view and none of these titles changed hands. Charlotte defeated Bayley and Sasha Banks in a triple threat match with some good amount of help from Dana Brooke. Perkins, meanwhile, had his first title defense and it was a successful one. He put together an action-packed cruiserweight match with Brian Kendrick and gave the fans a treat. The next chapter of the cruiserweight championship should be interesting after this outing.

New Day had a clean win over their long-term rivals Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows and this could be the last chapter in their feud as WWE has nothing new to be included into this storyline.

Roman Reigns crowned United States Champion

The mid card of Monday Night Raw suffered a huge landscape shift as Roman Reigns won the United States Championship from Rusev. These two were supposed to face off against each other at SummerSlam, but the match was pushed to Clash of Champions due to various reasons. It was a hard-fought match between these two and in the end, Reigns nailed a sphere to finish Rusev and get hold of the United States championship. Having Reigns hold a prestigious midcard championship comes with a string of possibilities and hopefully WWE could cash in on the same.

Owens retains with the help of Jericho

The much-anticipated Seth Rollins vs. Kevin Owens title match headlined Clash of Champions. There were rumors about huge returns and controversy during the match but as it turned out, WWE went a comparatively safer path. Owens and Rollins, as expected, delivered a solid match in terms of in-ring action. Towards the end, things got a bit messy due to the interference of Chris Jericho. Jericho ran in to help his best friend and was successful in doing so.

Thanks to the distraction that Jericho threw in, Owens got the better of Rollins and secured the pin to retain his Universal championship.
