Virat’s a fiery character and he pushes the boundaries, just like I've always tried to do: Johnson

FORMER AUSTRALIAN PACER Mitchell Johnson and Indian maestro Virat Kohli are no strangers to each other. Ever since these two cricketers got into a feisty battle in the 2014 Adelaide Test, they have gone after each other on and off the cricket field.

Some days ago, on the eve of the India-Australia WT20 match, Johnson took a dig at the Indian by reminding how he failed in the 2015 World Cup semis against the Aussies. However, Kohli in typical fashion replied with a bang!

And now, in his latest column for fox sports, the KXIP bowler only had praises for the 27-year-old.

"One man who definitely thrives on the extra scrutiny and pressure is Virat Kohli. The man is a superstar and he showed why during the World Twenty20 when he almost single-handedly dragged India into the semifinal.”

Johnson further added that Kohli’s aggression and in your face attitude is a lot similar to the Aussies.

"The fact he plays the game like us [Australian] is probably why we've rubbed each other the wrong way. If I sit back and digest it properly, we're actually quite similar in the way we approach the game. He's a fiery character and he pushes the boundaries, just like I've always tried to do. Maybe that's why we've clashed so often."
