WORLD NO.14 Milos Raonic came up with some inspired tennis to beat World NO.4 Stan Wawrinka 6-4, 6-3, 5-7, 4-6, 6-3 in round four of the Australian Open in Melbourne today.
Raonic served big and kept attacking the net at every given opportunity that pushed Wawrinka on the back foot. After winning the first two sets, it appeared that the Canadian would romp home in style, but the Swiss fought back to level the match at two sets all.
In the final set, Raonic hit back with an early break of serve and held serve to nail the match in three hours and 44 minutes. Raonic will now play Gael Monfils in the quarter-finals.
