THE SECOND EDITION of the International Premier Tennis League (IPTL) concluded on a high note after Singapore Slammers defeated the former defending champions Indian Aces to be crowned as the new IPTL champions. From Kobe, Manila, Delhi, Dubai to Singapore, the cash-rich tournament saw former legends and current superstars indulge in some high-octane tennis action, which managed to enthrall and captivate tennis fans.

From jaw-dropping shots, team-bonding, innovations to marquee clashes, the league provided unadulterated entertainment for the fans. As witnessed over the past three weeks, the league has surely thrown in some interesting points to discuss and debate on. Be it ticket sales, scheduling or rules, there is ample room for improvement.  

The tournament is still in its nascent stage and understandably will take time to evolve and develop into a better and finer product. That said, there are always a few things to reflect on after the completion of such a high magnitude tournament. And, the organizers would do well to consider some fundamental points that affect the biggest stakeholder of a sports event -- the fan.
