Leander leads Washington Kastles to 5th victory, earns third MVP

LEANDER PAES is very well known for the Grand Slams he has won over the years, the most recent one being the Wimbledon Mixed Doubles title with Martina Hingis.

But even hardcore tennis fans might not be aware that he is a holder of three MVPs for Washington Kastles, a tennis team which is part of the World Tennis Team (WTT), a professional tennis league played with a team format in the United States.

He has been playing for them since 2009. The 2015 edition ended on Sunday, 2nd August and for the fifth time Washington Kastles were crowned champions. It was all the more sweeter for Leander because he was captaining the side which consisted of stars such as Serena and Venus Williams.

This is the third time that he has been the Most Valuable Player. It was in 2009 that the title was conferred on him first, and then again two years later in 2011.

Just the way he dedicated his Wimbledon title to all his Indian supporters, he has dedicated his MVP title to the Washington Kastles community.
