DELHI FC WERE held to a draw by Tribhuvan Army in a Durand Cup Group E match at Kokrajhar, Assam.
Delhi, who played a 1-1 draw with Hyderabad FC in their previous match, came into this game as the favourites. But from the start, the Nepali armed forces team known as Tribhuvan Army FC outplayed them in most departments. The Kathmandu-based team had faster players and out-maneuvered the newly promoted I-League club.
Dinesh Henjan put Tribhuvan ahead 39 minutes into the match. Through most of the second half they managed to hold onto the lead and looked set to score a historic victory when Delhi FC got their equaliser from Girik Khosla.
With two draws in a row, Delhi FC are holding onto the top spot in the group. But with them dropping points in this match, the advantage in the race to top the group has shifted to the winner of the upcoming Hyderabad FC vs Chennaiyin FC match.
