GIRONA FC HAVE ANNOUNCED the squad that will travel to Kochi to face Kerala Blasters FC and Melbourne City FC in a friendly tournament.
The La Liga club will make a rather quick visit to India where they will play two back to back matches on 27th and 28th July.
Like Melbourne City FC, they are bringing a squad that's heavy on youth. The two World Cup 2018 players in their squad - Uruguay striker Cristhian Stuani and Colombian defender Johan Mojica - have both been left out of the contingent.
The full squad of Girona FC that's coming to Kochi is as follows...
Goalkeepers: Gorka Iraizoz Moreno, Yassine Bounou, Marc Vito Brezmes.
Defenders: Bernado Jose Espinosa Zuniga, Jonas Ramalho Chimeno, Pedro Alcala Guirado, Francisco Aday Benitez Caraballo, Juan Pedro Ramirez Lopez, Marc Muniesa Martinez, Carles Planas Antolines, Sebastia Coris Cardenosa.
Midfielders: Alex Granell Nogue, Pere Pons Reira, David Timor Copovi, Borja Garcia Freire, Ruben Alcaraz Jimenez, Aleix Garcia Serrano.
Forwards: Cristian Potugues Manzanera, Antony Ruben Lozano Colon, Yhoan Many Andzouana, Kevin Olivier Soni, Pedro Antonio Porro Sauceda.
The Spanish club that has a history of more than 80 years is relatively new to the La Liga, playing in the top division league for the first time in 2017-18, finishing 10th. The last time they won a trophy was back in 2007-08, when they won the Segunda Division B.
The club's short visit to India is part of La Liga's effort to increase their popularity among the Indian fans.
