Mitchell McClenaghan

Mitch McClenaghan might be struggling to get into the Kiwi squad, but there is no doubt that he has been one of the best bowlers in the IPL. In fact, the left-arm seamer was an integral part of the Mumbai Indians' squad from 2015. He was also MI's leading strike bowlers who had the uncanny knack of striking when it mattered the most. After being a part of the winning team in 2015 and 2017, it was shocking to see the Kiwi pacer not being picked by the Mumbai franchise.

2017: 14 matches, 19 wickets, 9.38 eco
2016: 14 matches, 17 wickets, 8.17 eco
2015: 12 matches, 18 wickets, 8.21 eco

Backdoor entry: McClenaghan can still make it to IPL 11. Mumbai might not have picked him at the auction, but it would be premature to write his presence off going ahead. Currently, MI have Jason Behrendroff, Mustafizur Rehman and Ben Cutting in their squad and given the history of Rehman and Behrendroff, Mumbai might be compelled to buy back McCleneghan at some stage. On the other hand, the Chennai Super Kings too could look into the Kiwi seamer. Remember, they too don't have a great pace attack. While they might have pouched Mark Wood and Lungi Ngidi, one cannot rule out McCleneghan's entry into CSK.
