The southpaw won KKR the crown in 2012 and 2014 through stellar performances with the bat and captained the team courageously, propelling the youngsters to the next level. He may or may not play for KKR this year. Sometime ago, Gambhir publicly expressed his willingness to play for the Delhi franchise. This could be one of the main reasons the KKR management didn't retain him prior to the auction.
