The Iranian all-rounder was retained by the Delhi franchise and is now appointed to lead them in their upcoming campaign. Before captaining Delhi in season 3, Meraj also skippered his ex-franchisee Telugu Titans for a brief period in season 2. The 28-year-old, who is one of the most experienced overseas players in the league, has earned 161 points in 43 matches. He formed a formidable partnership with Titans skipper Rahul Chaudhari in the third edition. The nimble-footed Iranian will help Delhi a great deal in both defence as well as attack department.
