IT'S A LAZY Friday that the Indian football fans are having. They are facing a quiet weekend.

There's no I-League matches coming up this weekend. The league is in an international break. The national team will be in action but only on Tuesday. There's a Santosh Trophy final coming up on Sunday but it's just not the same.

For all fans who are going through the I-League withdrawal syndrome - made worse by the fact that goals clips and match highlights videos are hard to come by on tv or internet - here's something that'll cheer you up.

Many of the clubs in the league have a deep connect with the regions and communities they represent and a history of taking part in the popular culture. Often, these clubs themselves become a subject of cultural and artistic activities. The result is a cache of paintings, banner art, poems, stories and songs - written & recorded or simply orally circulated - that the fans use to fire up the players and express their support for the club.

This article collects for you 6 songs about football clubs that have become very dear to their respective fans. Some of them are official anthems and some are not, but they have found their way into matchday playlists and terrace chants and everything that sets their club apart from others. Take a listen or twenty.
