Moving On: NEUFC terminate the services of head coach Farias, refuse to dwell on the matter

NORTHEAST UNITED have finally spoken up about the departure of their head coach Sergio Farias who was hired by the franchise for the 2016 edition of ISL only weeks ago. And it's sort of a short statement.

To the surprise of all the fans, Farias, who previously managed Juventus and won the AFC Champions League with Pohang Steelers, left NEUFC to join Thai top division club Suphanburi FC as head coach even before starting pre-season with the ISL franchise.

The sudden departure caused a lot of confusion and speculation about what could have been the reason. The official statement from NEUFC indicates the franchise is unlikely to delve into that any time soon. Nor does it indicate any possible legal proceedings against Cesar Farias for breaking his contract with the franchise. Instead, the tone of the statement signals an urge to move on from this mess to the job at hand.

Most ISL team are going into pre-season in July or August and NorthEast United have a month at best to find a new head coach if they are to ensure their players are fully prepared for their upcoming ISL campaign.
