Sai Praneeth wins his maiden Grand Prix title in Canada

EVERYTHING WENT RIGHT for men's singles shuttler Sai Praneeth at the Canada Grand Prix. The stage was set and all he had to do was perform and give his best. That is exactly what he did by winning his maiden Grand Prix title.

He was unstoppable in this tournament. Seeded fourth he was among few of the Indian stalwarts like HS Prannoy and Ajay Jayaram who were seeded higher than him.

The only match that was the toughest for the Indian was against the Frenchman Brice Leverdez which was a three game thriller.

Playing the final against the third seed Korean was a tough outing as the former was leading the head-to-head count but the Indian had something else in store.

It was an easy and comfortable match for Praneeth who won the finale in style, a straight game victory 21-12, 21-10.
