First for Indian women's golf: two players make progress at a major tournament

FOR THE FIRST TIME in women's golf, two Indian players have made it to a major tournament.

Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar, with tremendous performance in hte second round, have progressed to the third round at the Women's Open at Walton Heath.

While Diksha Dagar is tied at the 47th place in the tournament, Aditi Ashok has done a lot better, breaking into the top 10. She is tied at the 9th spot in the competition so far.

A total of 73 players have made it to the third round, so there's still a long way to go for both of them. But their performance so far, especially Aditi's, has created the hope for a major result for Indian golf from this tournament.
