Who gets Dhoni and other top players when two new IPL teams are formed?

THE BOARD OF CONTROL FOR CRICKET IN INDIA (BCCI) is considering the introduction of a 'draft system' to include the top five players from suspended franchises, Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals for the two new prospective IPL teams.

According a report published in The Times of India, sources claim that BCCI has discussed the draft system on an informal level, in order to settle the issue of teams wanting to pick desired players. Senior players from CSK and RR such as MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, R Ashwin and Ajinkya Rahane could possibly go into the draft.

As for the remaining players, they will be going into the auction pool, reports suggest. The board does not want a grudge situation to arise over selection of players like MS Dhoni.

A certain section of the BCCI is in favour of assuring the teams a minimum profit guarantee of at least INR 10 crore, so as to attract more bidders for the new teams for a two-year period.
