SPANISH MIDFIELDER WITH 3 seasons' worth of La Liga experience, Vincente Gomez, has joined the Kerala Blasters roster.
Yesterday Gomez had bid goodbye to the supporters of his former club, and earlier today Kerala Blasters officially announced his arrival.
The 32 year old was born in Las Palmas, and at the age of 21, he joined the reserve side of his local club UD Las Palmas. Within a year he was promoted to the first team which played in Segunda Division.
He stayed with the club for the next 8 seasons, starting regularly. He was at the thick of it when in 2014-15 they fought hard to win a promotion to the La Liga, the top division league of Spain. There he stayed very much a part of the club's plans, playing for them for the next three season.
In 2018, he joined Deportivo La Coruna in the Segunda Division and played for them for the next two seasons. Now, a year before his three year deal with Deportivo was expected to run out, he has signed for Kerala Blasters FC on a new three year deal.
Gomez's signing comes as a part of the thorough rebuilding project underway at the Blasters under new head coach Kibu Vicuna, who won the I-League with Mohun Bagan last season.
