FC Pune City lost their third game against Dempo SC by 1-3 in AWES Cup here at Tilak Maidan, Goa on Sunday.
The first half was more balanced with both the sides holding the fort in their halves. Neither of the clubs had any clear chance on the goal and expectedly, the first half ended with a 0-0 scoreline.
The home team though didn't want to disappoint the crowd gathered at the stadium to witness the game. Second half was full of action that the fans wanted to witness. Constant pressure from Dempo paid dividends as in a span of twelve minutes Dempo SC went 3-0 up.
First was a 56th minute opening goal via Mario Mascarenhas. Six minutes later, Jessel Carneiro doubled the lead for Dempo in the 62nd minute. At the stroke of 68th, Latesh Mandrekar scored the third goal as FC Pune City couldn't halt the momentum.
FC Pune City pulled back one in the 77th minute via Jakob Vanlalhlimpuia but that wasn't going to change the story as at full time, Dempo took the match 3-1.
