ISL 2017-18: Chennaiyin FC steal crucial away goal from FC Goa in first leg of the semi-final

FC Goa were finished their home leg in a 1-1 draw against Chennaiyin FC second semi-final of ISL 4. Manuel Lanzarote gave Goa the lead in the second half but substitute Anirudh Thapa scored the equaliser minutes later.

Both teams started on a fast paced game and had each other’s defences active on most times. Keepers at both end had a busy day. The first half ended goalless but not without some on target weak efforts.

Jeje, who did not have a great night, missed with just the keeper to beat. FC Goa broke the deadlock four minutes after the hour-mark when Corominas’ shot was saved by Chennai’s goalkeeper Karanjit Singh. The rebound, came at Lanzarote’s leg and he would not miss from yards out.

Substitute Anirudh Thapa, equalised minutes later. Nelson played it through for Thapa. He touch before firing low and through Kattimani’s legs to silence the home crowd. The match ended 1-1.
