Defending champions have not looked in the best of shape from the start of the season. Their first three points came in the fifth game of the season.Being hit with unavailability of players like star-signing Robbie Keane, ATK suffered in the front line scoring just four goals till their first win. Along with Keane, players like Carl Baker needed to be replaced without playing a game due to injury and Ryan Taylor was the replacement player brought in. Ashutosh Mehta and Jayesh Rane two Indian names who joined ATK from the 2017 ISL Draft were unavailable for a long part of the season start.
Under the star name coach Teddy Sheringham, struggled to find goals in the first few game but have picked up well after the new-found stability to the squad. In the last 5 matches, ATK have gathered 10 of a possible 15 points.
