Big news on the Merger (or re-structuring of leagues as AIFF and IMG-Reliance call it) that shows that existing ISL teams and 3 I-League clubs will form the new national top division in the 2017-18 season itself, thanks to a new stance from Atletico de Kolkata owner Sanjeev Goenka.

We also discuss what it means for the teams that won't make the cut in the new top division and what they have to do to survive the forced relegation.
