If the Federation & FPAI have problems then they should sort it out behind closed doors, says captain Sunil Chhetri

WE ARE AWARE of the recent differences of opinion between FPAI (Football Players Association of India) and AIFF (All India Football Federation). Players, fans have all been vocal about it.

In an interview to TFG, National team and Bengaluru FC captain Sunil Chhetri was asked about the same.

With a bit of frustration shown on his face about the situation, he said,

"See the only sad part about is that if the Federation has anything against FPAI, the technicalities haven't been mentioned, just give a call to Renedy (Singh), the president and finish it. You cannot have an FPAI and the Federation having differences, there can be differences but be inside a closed door and sort it out and finish it."

He further added,

"I don't even know who has said what nor the technicalities. I was given a call by FPAI, answered the questions to the queries that were given but of course that is not given out in the public platform but it's not nice. If the Federation which can have issues or questions at times, call FPAI and vice versa and just sort it out."

"One thing is for sure, what the Federation and FPAI wants cannot be different because both are working for the betterment of the welfare of the players. The problems that are spoken by FPAI and are normal, sensible issues which is sensible all over the world so I'm sure the problem wasn't that. So if there is something it should be sorted out behind closed doors, we shouldn't be reading about it, just give a call and clear things out."
