Play by Play: Shillong Lajong hammer Chennai; Chennai started well but lacked the edge

THE HOME SIDE STARTED THE BETTER of the two and pressurised the Lajong defence with wave after waves of attacks. The first 15 minutes was the home side dominating. That was all the could muster in the first half because Lajong took over from then on.

Isaac, Yuta and Samuel were great in midfield as they kept possesion to put the home team off. The wait for the goal paid off when Fabio headed in Isaac's free kick close to half time.

The second half saw a few good runs made by Chennai but lacked up front. Lajong went on to added three more to sit comfortably on the lead. Soundaarajan got on Tank who gave the home fans some moments to cheer about. Amiri got in the consolation goal as Lajong had outdone the home team.
