KXIP appoints Sehwag as head of cricket operations & strategy for IPL 10

KINGS XI PUNJAB has announced that Virender Sehwag will be heading their cricket operations and strategy in the Indian Premier League season (IPL) 10. The former Indian opener will also continue to mentor the team in the cash-rich league. 

Speaking about his appointment, the ‘Nawab of Najafgarh’ said,

“It is such an honour to lead this team and mentor our young talent. Kings XI Punjab is a team very close to my heart and I am looking forward to a great season with them.”

KXIP stated that Sehwag in his new role will add great value to the franchise.

“With Viru’s vast knowledge and expertise, it is a matter of great pride for Kings XI Punjab to have him mentor the squad this season. We are absolutely confident that his experience and ability will add great value to the franchise and wish him the best in his new role.” 

Being with KXIP since IPL 8, this will be Sehwag’s third year of association with the franchise.
