Officials stuck in protests, CCFC vs MB match runs into temporary disarray

THE MATCH BETWEEN Chennai City FC and Mohun Bagan went through a brief period of organizational trouble when both the referee and the match commissioner got stuck on their way to the city due to Jallikattu-related protests.

Due to trains being blocked by various protest groups expressing their support for Jallikattu during a general strike being observed in Tamil Nadu, the AIFF-appointed officials could not make it in time for the managers' meeting on the eve of the match.

However, they managed to reach their respective hotels and the Chennai City management escorted them to the managers' meeting which took place late. But thanks to all the formalities being observed on the night before the match, the actual match is no longer in doubt. It will take place as scheduled at 7 pm tomorrow.
