CHURCHILL LEAD IN THE THIRD MINUTE OF THE GAME through a well taken free kick by Brandon. Mumbai applied continous pressure after going down. THey used both flanks well to threaten the Churchill defence. Hangal came close as hit the crossbar from distance. Mumbai got the equlaiser through a mistake in the Churchill defence.The home team were on the back foot for most of the first half.
Come second half, Churchill started the game with much more vigour in their game and pressed hard to get the lead. They looked a completely different team from the first half. A series of corners really pushed the the away team on the edge of their own goal. The home side had turned the table around and piled on continous pressure. Then a loose foul by the home team's defence gave awaya penalty to Mumbai. Sawhney took the spot kick and placed in weakly to the keeper's right and he judged it correctly to make the save.
Mumbai made a couple of attacks late in the game and the last of which saw Thoi Singh crossing in to an unmarked Sawhney and with the slighest of touches managed to push the goal in the back of the net.
