AFTER THIRTEEN DAYS of non-stop badminton action, the Premier Badminton League is finally come to end with the finals being held tonight in Delhi between Mumbai Rockets and Chennai Smashers.

Both the teams, we had predicted in our previews that they are a strong contenders for the title. Both have had a great team and displayed some high voltage badminton action.

Mumbai and Chennai have a great mix of Indian and overseas shuttlers who were at their best and helped their teams get to this stage to play out one last time for the title.

Mumbai will look to better their first edition ending, from runners-up to being the champions while, Chennai would go all out to lift the title.

The Trump match still continues to be there. Each team strategically selects one of the 5 matches that they play in a Tie as their Trump match. In a Trump match, a victory gives the team a bonus point and a loss gives it a negative point.

The difference is in the point system, from 15 points it is now 11 points game which will make it tricky and challenging for the teams.

TFG analyses and predicts the winner of the match based on a possible line-up of players, as the teams have to announce their team and Trump match only an hour before the game.

MUMBAI ROCKETS vs CHENNAI SMASHERS

The following shuttlers are likely to play against each other in their respective categories; men's singles: Ajay Jayaram (Mumbai) vs Tommy Sugiarto (Chennai); women's singles: Sung Ji Hyun (Mumbai) vs PV Sindhu (Chennai); men's doubles: Lee Yong/Nip (Mumbai) vs Mads Kolding/Chris Adcock (Chennai); mixed doubles: Lee Yong/Zieba (Mumbai) vs Adcock Couple (Chennai); men's singles: HS Prannoy (Mumbai) vs Parupalli Kashyap (Chennai).

It remains to be seen which matches each team will nominate as their Trump match.

Expect a tough battle between the two. We pick Mumbai Rockets to clinch the title.
