Bengaluru FC sign Honduras forward Roby Norales as their fourth foreigner

BENGALURU FC HAVE completed their foreigners' quota by signing Roby Alberto Norales Nunez, a striker from Honduras.

The 5 foot 11 inch tall 25 year old will join the defending champions as their fourth overseas signing after Juanan, John Johnson and Cameron Watson. He will be the only foreigner in the Blues' offense as they aim to defend their I-League title and seek to have a decent run in the AFC Champions League qualifiers. He has been assigned the no. 9 jersey at the club, previously worn by forward Robin Singh and defensive medio Alvaro Rubio.

A product of the top division side Motagua's youth system. Roby started playing for that same club's senior team back in 2011. He later went on to play for Real Sociedad (the one from Honduras, not Spain) and Deportivo Ayulta. But he found his best footing last year when he played for Platense, where he managed to score 11 goals in 25 league appearances.

Roby has also made one appearance for the Honduras national team; he came on as a substitute during an international friendly with Belize.

This is the first time the striker will play outside his home country, and speaking to a local media outlet, he sounded ready for the adventure,

"It's very clear to me that if I go, I will miss out on playing in our own national league. But the offer I got from there was much better."

Bengaluru coach Albert Roca played an all-Indian offense in the historic AFC Cup that they had in 2016. But this time the club seems to be going all out to up their game in both I-League and Asia.
