Rocus Lamare ends his legendary 12 year spell at Salgaocar, joins Shillong Lajong

DUBBED AS THE FIRST LAJONG PRODUCT to play for the Indian National Team, Lamare began his career at Lajong and now he returns to his former club. At 30, he has plenty of experience in the top tier of the Indian circuit. Lamare played four seasons for the Goan club Salgaocar SC and has been a regular pick in the starting line ups for most part of his career.

Lamare has also represented the National team where he has been part of U-17, U-20, U-23 team and finally making his debut in 2007. Two time I-League winner will be beneficial with his experience for the Reds, the club he began his career with. The midfielder has also played other prestigous tournaments like Federation and Durand cups even winning them in 2011 and 2014 respectively. Being part of the Mohun Bagan squad he won the IFA shield.

Managing Director Shillong Lajong FC, Larsing Ming Sawyan said, 

“Rocus Lamare is the first Lajong product to play for the Indian National Team and his return to Lajong is aimed to mentor the young Lajong players as they embark on their journey to make a mark in the National football scene.”
