Wedding bells: Captain Sunil Chhetri set to tie knot with girlfriend Sonam

THE INDIAN FOOTBALL TEAM CAPTAIN Sunil Chhetri is all set to marry his girlfriend Sonam Bhattacharya, daughter of former footballer Subrata Bhattacharya.

The former Mohun Bagan captain Subrata confirmed the news,

"Yes, Sunil came and met us. They have been in a relationship and I think they should be happy for the rest of their lives," to Hindustan Times.

Talking about Chhetri, the soon-to-be father-in-law said,

"I have seen Sunil grow as a footballer. I got him to Kolkata Maidan in 2003 and he has improved as a footballer. I can compare him to Xavier Pius of our times. He is a good lad and I like his innocence."

Sonam studied business management in Scotland and currently runs two star hotels at the Salt Lake area in Kolkata.
