Play by Play: Mumbai TWO good for Chennai as they walk into the semi finals with the victory

MUMBAI DICTATED THE FIRST HALF and kept the ball for most and created two or three good scoring chances. Chennaiyin, with the inferior amount of ball possesion they had could not create much from it. The only point that Chennaiyin can complaint about is the handball inside the Mumbai penalty area by Gerson from the corner, which was not given.

Second half was again Mumbai's from the start of the second period. Keeping the ball in possession left Chennaiyin chasing the ball most of the time. The away side did manage to get some passes together and create some attacking moves but all of them never posed any threat to the strong Mumbai defence. Another occasion where moment that CFC may feel were denied unjustly was the handball by Goain inside the box.

Chhetri had a couple of good chances but he lacked the finishing touch on both occasions. Vadocz scored from a Forlan ball, had some work to do before getting the shot away and he did score a good volley. Two goals in each half were sufficient to get Mumbai a place in the semi final.
