Zambrotta: One point was equivalent to three points; Molina: Lack in intensity allowed them to score

ON A GOAL SCORING RUN, Delhi managed two goals even with a man down.Zambrotta found no reason to be upset about the result.

Talking to the press after the game the Dynamos Coach said, “I don’t think the team missed out on three points. We have got one point and it is very important considering our situation. In the second half, we were forced to play 4-4-1 and we had to cover a lot of the pitch and that was difficult for us. I am happy with the match.”

Atlético de Kolkata led in the first half and played the remainder of the game with a one-man advantage. To not being able to capitalise of the numerical advantage, Molina said,

“I think we did a great job in the first half. We played well and scored one. In the first half, the referee gave a lot of fouls against our players and when the Delhi players touched us it was not a foul. In the second half, I think after the sending-off we were a little scared as we may also get booked by the referee and we did not defend with the same intensity and allowed Delhi to move around with the ball and they scored two goals,”

Zambrotta, being optimistic about the draw said,

"In the first half, of course we were put under pressure by Kolkata and also sometimes it’s not easy to utilise the whole space of the pitch, and in this match you have got to consider who is your opponent as Kolkata are a quality side and are one of the best teams in the ISL. We win or lose, we must analyse the result. Today we drew the match but for us it is like a victory and the one point is important for us as we move one point ahead, and at the moment Kolkata are behind us.”

Malouda, the Delhi marquee, scored the second and equalising goal, raising questions about the ATK defence. On this lapse, Molina replied,

“From the bench, it is difficult to tell, you know. There were defenders, so I don't know how he managed to score. If the referee allows Malouda to do everything he wants, then it is difficult for the defenders to stop him as they don't have the quality of Malouda. If the referee allows me to do everything I want then maybe even I can do it or maybe not. Don't get me wrong Malouda is a great player, he does not need help.”

Dynamos missed scoring from the penalty spot as they did in the last encounter between the two sides. Speaking on the miss Zambrotta shared,

“Marcelinho was supposed to take the penalty and Malouda told him that he would take the penalty as he was very confident, and I think they both are mature players and can decide regarding who will take the penalty. It is not a problem who takes the penalty"

Sameehg Doutie needed to be replaced due to an injury in the first period. Speaking on the status of the assist-provider of the first ATK's first goal Molina said,

“We don't know and we hope it is not a big injury and we will know when we get back to Kolkata tomorrow as we will have to do some tests, but I was talking to him and I don't think it is bad as it is regarding something about his hamstring. So, I hope it is not bad because if it is bad, then it is a big problem. So, let's hope it is not bad.”
