AIFF breaks the silence over referee complaints, defends the match officials

ALL INDIA FOOTBALL FEDERATION (AIFF) have released a statement that is in favour of the match officials in the Indian Super League.

Since the start of the 2016 ISL season, there have been some wrong decisions that have cost some teams drastically. FC Goa coach Zico had voiced his oppinion over this issue. Once again after last night's match against Kerala Blasters, the Brazilian has spoken against the referees.

Finally the AIFF has broken the silence and spoken in favour of the referees. Following is the statement:

"The Referees officiating in the Hero ISL are FIFA Officials, having officiated FIFA Internationals and high intensity games in their careers.

Like the Players on the field, the Match Officials also give everything during the game and it is very unfortunate to see them coming under unwanted criticism for doing their job.

All India Football Federation stands by its Match Officials officiating in ISL and are sure the Referees will continue to give their best on the field."
