PRE-MATCH QUIPS: Zambrotta -Training conditions not ideal; Pasha says they're ready for a tough match

AS THE LEAGUE DRAWS CLOSER to its completion, Delhi Dynamos and Chennaiyin would look to win and go closer to the top of the table.

Speaking to the media ahead of the game, Delhi Coach Zambrotta was looking to continue their good form and said,

“We must remember that our target is to reach the semis as soon as we can, and about the last two matches that we won… I am very happy as the team is getting better, and tomorrow will be a strong match against a very good team."

Assistant Coach of Chennaiyin FC shared his view of the fixture saying,

“The strategy is left to the head coach. They are a confident team and they did well against us in the home match but Marco has a strategy for the game against Delhi tomorrow. Every day is different. We may have a different team and not like the last time, and also a different strategy. But it is going to be a tough match for us, no doubt about that and I think we are well prepared for that"

Pasha continued,

“An away game is a different ball game, so naturally the strategy will be different and we will be executing his mindset in today's training and we will see that we execute it on the field as well.”

The game features the former Italian team mates, Zambrotta and Materazzi in their clash tonight. Asked about his thoughts of the clash said,

“It is a very nice experience to play against him and the first game was also great and now we have to think about tomorrow. It will be a match between two champion, Marco Materrazi from their side and Gianluca Zambrotta from our side, and I think it will be a challenge tomorrow. It will be a good match as both teams are different. Good luck to the teams.”

With steady performances from the defending champions this season, Pasha was asked if the good form meant CFC had the upper hand replied,

"See, all the players are big players, playing at the highest level and we cannot say it is a big match or small match but we cannot rest on our past achievements, and our playing in the final or semis will not count for so much. No doubt we have achieved some level but the teams which are on the lower level will be hungrier than us and I think it will be a good game as both team have experienced players.”

Delhi have registered back to back victories in the last two games. On this good run and player availability , Zambrotta shared,

“Winning the last two matches… I am happy and I am also happy with the way we won and that we created a lot of chances to score. And regarding fitness, I am glad to say all the players are 100% available.”

CFC frontman Jeje was also with Asst. Coach Pasha at the press conference. He was asked if he missed the high scoring Mendoza this season. To this he replied,

“Not only Mendoza but I miss Elano also but I think we still have a very good team and we are good enough to defend the title but we need to work hard and every match is important for us right now.”

As the news of the air pollution in New Delhi makes headlines, Zambrotta spoke about how he managed to carry out trainings by commenting,

“Of course, these are not the best conditions to train and we need to train. We have spoken to the medical team regarding if we can train and they say we can train and we trust them. Yes, I know these are not the best conditions but we have got to make the most of it,”
