Dharmaraj Ravanan suspended for 2 games for intentionally stamping Dudu Omagbemi

IN A RETROACTIVE disciplinary move based on video clips, Dharmaraj Ravanan of Pune City received a 2 match suspension for intentionally hurting Chennaiyin FC striker Dudu Omagbemi during a match.

On 23rd October, when Pune City took on Chennaiyin FC at home, Dharmaraj Ravanan was seen jostling for the ball with Dudu Omagbemi multiple times. And during one such moment, when Dudu had fallen over, Dharmaraj stamped his studs on his calf.

It was an off the ball violent conduct that could have resulted in a serious injury and warranted a red card. But the incident evaded the eye of the referee or the linesmen and hence no immediate action was taken against Ravanan.

But the ISL Disciplinary Committee, based on video evidence, has decided to impose a 2 match ban on Ravanan. This means he will have to sit out from two crucial home games; versus FC Goa tonight and ATK on Sunday.
