Habas: Indian players are improving but they must control their hard tackles

ALWAYS KNOWN TO BE VOCAL, FC Pune City Coach Antonio Habas, said he was pleased to see the Indian players doing well in the Indian Super League. He has always known to not mince his words about matter that concern him. Speaking about the Indian players that are part of the ISL and their performance, he was all praises for them. But also pointed out that they need to restrain on the intensity of challenges that are put in.

“I think that the general Indian player is improving but there must be improvement in controlling tackles. We might have a serious problem because it is not the same to play strong and play violent. And the referees here have the same treatment for a strong tackle and a violent tackle…we respect that the Indian players improve every day and we want competition but I feel there should be more control in this respect”, said Habas.

He went on to say that to be playing with players from Europe, Americas and Africa provides is beneficial to the game of Indian players. Coach Habas shared,

“I think that the Indian players are really competitive and getting better every day and the players from Europe, Americas and Africa is good for the ISL.”

Jonathan Lucca accompanied Habas while speaking the the media shared the opinion about the improvement of Indian players and said,

"The Indian players get better every year and for the league its best that the Indian guys improve. Even the foreign players who come here make the league stronger.”

Lucca was asked about the preparation for the upcoming game against Delhi. To that he answered,

"The team as I said in the last interview, is good. I have respect for Delhi. Pune will try their best to win"
