Play-by-Play: Kerala Blasters held to a goalless draw by Delhi Dynamos at Kochi

THE DEFENDERS of Delhi Dynamos stood strong under sustained pressure from Kerala Blasters as both teams played out a goalless draw in Kochi tonight.

The match, which saw home team KBFC start better, mellowed down when Delhi slowed down the game with back passes and safe ball exchanges. Kerala Blasters tried to disrupt their strategy as much as they could but ultimately failed to break the deadlock.

The best chances of the game came to Michael Chopra who came close to scoring in both halves; failing to find a way past Delhi keeper Toni Doblas in a one-on-one situation and later being caught offise. Delhi could not create chances as threatening as Sandesh Jhingan and Cedric Hengbart played an effective role in the central defence.

This is the first goalless draw of ISL 2016, and the first point that Kerala Blasters have picked up after 3 games. Delhi Dynamos, meanwhile, were more or less happy with this result; they are on 4 points after 2 matches.
