Play By Play: FC Goa vs FC Pune City-- late Ndoye goal seals maiden win for the Stallions

IT WAS ANOTHER NIGHT of disappointment for FC Goa as their first home game of ISL 2016 ended in defeat to FC Pune City.

The Gaurs, who had lost to NorthEast United in their first game, took on Pune City who had lost their own opening game to Mumbai City. The game had an entertaining start with end-to-end action from both teams.

It was the visitors who drew first blood as a Jonatan Lucca shot, tipped by Goa keeper Kattimani, hit the post and reached Arata Izumi who shot it straight into the net. The home team equalized not long after, with Kattimani sending a long ball to Joffre who flicked it towards Raphael, who fooled Gouramangi, ran into the Pune box and rammed it in. The first half ended 1-1.

The second half saw the home team dominate proceedings but could not score despite multipe chances. In the middle of the half there were a couple of controversial moments; Anibal Zurdo went down in the Goa box but the referee denied a penalty and there were some other calls that were questioned by the players. The match was slowing down as Goa tried hard to score but Pune successfully held their ground, but in the last few minutes a ball from Lucca saw substitute Ndoye make a breakneck run, past Lucio, and beat the keeper to get the goal. Pune City took the game 1-2, their first points of the campaign and second away win ever.
