Indian MMA Fighters That You Should Know About – Part 1

“If you take four street corners, and on one they are playing baseball, on another they are playing basketball and on the other, street hockey, on the fourth corner, a fight breaks out. Where does the crowd go?" - Dana White

Sumeet Khade with Jon Jones

The psychology here is simple. However, implementing this and turning MMA into global phenomenon takes tons of dedication, hard work, courage and a lot of other things. Dana was successful with UFC and the recent $4 Billion sale underlines this fact. Thanks to the success story and mainstream attention that UFC brings to MMA, the sport is slowly gaining popularity in India.

The MMA fans in India have already embraced UFC fighters as heroes, but at the same time, our own Indian fighters rarely get the attention that they deserve. As an effort to shine some limelight onto the Indian Fighters, The Fan Garage is starting a series called ‘Indian MMA Fighters that you should know about’. In this first part of the series, we will be looking at five notable Indian fighters.
