Hockey legend Mohammad Shahid breathes his last; world mourns loss
FORMER INDIA HOCKEY PLAYER Mohammad Shahid passed away at a hospital in Gurgaon due to multiple organ failure. A source confirmed about the same to PTI,
"Yes, he is no more. He suffered multiple organ failure this morning. It's a sad news."
Earlier this month, the 56-year-old legend was admitted to Medanta, the Medicity. His condition worsened after he got jaundice and dengue at the same time.
He was known for his dribbling skills and considered one of India's greatest players in hockey. He was part of the V Baskaran-led team that won a gold medal at the 1980 Moscow Olympics.
To add to his list of rewards, he was also part of the Indian team that won Silver medal at the Delhi Asian Games in 1982 and backed it with Bronze at the Seoul Asiad in 1986.
