Why did Nick ‘The Tooth’ leave the UFC reality show ‘Looking for a Fight’

One of the most popular and hyped shows on the UFC Network in recent times has been the ‘Looking for a Fight’ series. The show centers around UFC President Dana White traveling the United States (so far) checking out local fight cards for talent to sign up for the UFC.

Putting the speculations to bed

The series which came out with episode 7 last week, stars Matt Serra alongside Dana and the first six episodes co-starred Nick ‘The Tooth’ who has been a close friend of White since his schooldays. However, episode 7 has no mention of him and instead has Din Thomas replace him with zero explanations provided.

The whole incident and the nature of the ordeal has prompted a ton of speculation on social media, with various theories doing the rounds on why ‘The Tooth’ was ‘booted’ off the show. One of the popular theories was that Dana found out that Nick was the ‘mole’ who leaked out the Brock Lesnar news to Ariel Helwani early last month, which saw Helwani and his team’s media credentials being revoked by the UFC.

However, Nick has come out on the latest episode of his podcast and dispelled all those rumours, attributing his departing from the show to his commitments as a writer. He cleared the air saying that while he enjoyed being a part of the show and the money he was making from it, it was delaying the book he has been working on for a number of years and he felt that the show was taking his focus off the project just when he had the ‘dragon by its tail’.

Terming himself as a ‘writer first’ he talked about how he has been involved with writing books and columns for Fightland website for the last 10 years and intends to focus on spending most of his days completing his book now.
