Finemaster Kumble: Board the team bus on time or pay a hefty fine

THE INDIAN TEAM will now have to be wary of not boarding the team bus on time as newly elected head coach Anil Kumble has introduced a USD 50 fine for players arriving late.

As reported by Indianexpress, a senior BCCI official explained,

"Kumble, who was recently selected for the coveted post ahead of the likes of Ravi Shastri, has introduced the rule, a first of its kind, in order to maintain discipline, and keep the players focused on their tasks ahead."

Sources reported that the legendary spinner has also fixed a time for the players to get their massage, aside from holding a team meeting every fourth day.

The official added that while Kumble wants his team to enjoy freedom, he also wants all the players to understand the importance of discipline.

“Everything is organised. Kumble wants players to understand the importance of discipline and, at the same time, give them freedom. He knows where to draw the line. The Indian team is scheduled to go for scuba diving in the coming days. These small things have been kept for the players to unwind.”

Kumble has evidently been working on discipline, team bonding, and fitness since the day he took charge of the national squad. The legendary leggie had held a musical event for the team too as a part of the preparatory camp at NCA, Bangalore before the squad departed for the Caribbean for a four-match Test series.
