Mohammed Shami receives whopping Rs 2.2 crore from BCCI as IPL 2015 compensation fee

INDIA PACEMAN Mohammed Shami has received a hefty sum of Rs 2.2 crore from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for missing out on Indian Premier League (IPL) 2015 due to injury.

The Delhi Daredevils seamer was ruled out of IPL 8 after suffering an injury to his left knee during the ICC World Cup. 

As reported by PTI, the BCCI has now compensated Shami for missing the IPL. According to the list of payments made by the board in the month of June, Shami's name is also mentioned. He has received Rs 22,312,500.

The BCCI said, Shami had got the payment for 

"loss of Pay for IPL Season 2015 due to Injury."

Shami, who represents Bengal in domestic cricket, was acquired by Delhi Daredevils for Rs 4.25 crore in 2014 auction. The bowler was retained by the franchise this year and hence featured in eight games at the ninth edition of the cash-rich tournament.
