THE SEASON IS finally getting underway tomorrow for East Bengal as they assemble to seek a historic 7th straight Calcutta Football League triumph.

Many of the Indian players picked for their CFL squad have assembled in Kolkata and more, including a couple of foreign players, will be flying in over the next couple of days.

Head coach Trevor James Morgan has come in and he met with the players yesterday in the club tent. The players underwent medical tests at the club.

The team will begin their pre-season training tomorrow at the Howrah Stadium. After spending a week there they will move to Kalyani for their residential preparatory camp.

Speaking to reporters, Morgan said he wasn't happy with the time he had in his hand to prepare for the season,

"Normally you'd want a pre-season to be six weeks long. But it seems we're going to have about three and a half weeks before the first game... it's a challenge, but it's your job."

Faced with the task of winning a record-setting 7th CFL title, Morgan said he didn't want to worry about it,

"History, in the end, is history."
