INDIA'S THIRD SEEDED badminton star Kidambi Srikanth and second seeded women's singles player Saina Nehwal qualified to the pre-quarters of the World Championships in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Srikanth breezed past Chinese Taipei's Hsu Jen Hao 21-14, 21-15, in the second round match, taking just 36 minutes to complete the demolition at the 9000-seater Istora Senayan.
He was dominant throughout and completed the cruising win, collecting 42 of the 71 points played in the match. He is set to play against 13th seeded Hong Kong's Hu Yun in the next round.
The second seeded Saina had an easy and comfortable win against Hong Kong's Cheung Ngan Yi 21-13 21-9 in a second round match. It just took 33 minutes for the Olympic medallist to seal a place in the next round.
She will next take on fourth seeded Sayaka Takahashi of Japan.
