ACCOUNTS SETTLED: Kohli and Dhawan finally receive their pending fee from DDCA

DELHI AND DISTRICT CRICKET ASSOCIATION (DDCA) has finally cleared the dues of India’s Test skipper Virat Kohli for leading the Delhi team in the NKP Salve Challenger Trophy three years ago.

Along with the swashbuckling batsman, the likes of Shikhar Dhawan, Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir too were paid their pending fees.

As reported by TOI, the controversy ridden DDCA cleared the dues of its regular players for the year 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons, this year. Virat Kohli was paid Rs 176,000 by the DDCA for the leading the Delhi team in the trophy in 2013. Also, India opener Shikhar Dhawan was paid an amount of Rs 237,600 for playing in the Vijay Hazare trophy in December.

DDCA treasurer Ravinder Manchanda said,

"The bills from these big names were lying with the association for years. If there is surplus money in the association, there's no harm in clearing out as much payment as possible. The association can settle its account once the money comes from BCCI."

Since the association had not forwarded balance sheets to the BCCI, the Delhi players had performed without getting paid for three years.
