Saina Nehwal clinches her first title of the year & second Australian SS
SAINA NEHWAL clinched her first title of the year and the second at Australian Open Superseries beating Sun Yu from China in a thrilling three game match 11-21, 21-14, 21-19 in Sydney today.
The seventh seed had a good outing this tournament going into the final and she added a cherry onto it winning the title. Her fans got to witness her best performance here in Sydney.
From the beginning the determination in her was evident and nothing less than a title would have made her happy. And with this victory she has made a point that watch out for her at the Olympics.
In the final against a Chinese against whom Saina had a dominant head-to-head count but the first game loss put immense pressure. But that didn't let her confidence die down, instead she came back even stronger with this time it was a do or die situation for the Indian.
She gave her all to claim this title and the sheer joy at the end where she won her championship point was the proof of how much this tournament and the victory means to her.
