Danish Mujtaba & Manpreet Singh complete 150th International Caps for India

INDIAN FORWARD Danish Mujtaba and Midfielder Manpreet Singh completed their 150th International Caps for India where they played against Germany in the Champions Trophy match in London.

27-year old, Danish made his debut for the Indian Hockey Team in 2009, hails from the city of Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh and is a product of the Delhi-based Air India-SAI Hockey Academy.
 
Mujtaba has been a core member of Indian Hockey Team that won the Silver medal at the 25th Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 2016, Malaysia, Bronze Medal - Hero Hockey World League Final 2015, Gold Medal - 17th Asian Games 2014, and Silver Medal - XX Commonwealth Games 2014.
 
Md Mushtaque Ahmad, Secretary General, Hockey India was all praise for Mujtaba on his 150th appearance:

“Danish has represented India on the international stage for a long time and is one of the key members of the team. As one of the senior members, his presence in the squad is extremely valuable. I congratulate him and wish him good luck for all his future games and hope he continues to make us proud.”

The 23-year old Jalandhar player  Manpreet made his international debut back in the year 2011 at the Asian Champions Trophy held in Ordos City, China and has featured as a regular in the Indian Men’s team since then. He was named the ‘Junior Player of the Year’ by the Asian Hockey Federation in its Congress held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2014.
 
He captained the junior men’s team in the Hero FIH Hockey Junior Men’s World Cup 2013, New Delhi, and the 3rd Sultan of Johor Cup in 2013 in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Under his leadership at the 3rd Sultan of Johor Cup 2013, India beat host Malaysia 3-0 and clinched the Gold Medal.
 
Manpreet Singh was also part of the Silver medal winning Indian team at the XX Commonwealth Games 2014 in Scotland and represented India at the FIH Men’s World Cup 2014 (Netherlands), Hero FIH Hockey World League Final 2014 (India), FIH Hockey World League Semi-final 2013 (Netherlands), FIH Hockey World League Round 2, 2013 (India), Men’s Asia Cup 2013 (Malaysia), FIH Champions Trophy 2012 (Australia), Asian Champions Trophy 2012 (Qatar), Olympic Games 2012 (London) and FIH Champions Challenge 2011 (South Africa).
 
He was also an integral part of the Indian team which won the silver medal in the 25th Sultan Azlan Shah Cup, 2016. He has also won a Gold in the 17th Asian Games (2014) and a Bronze in the Hero Hockey World League Final as well as in the 24th Sultan Azlan Shah Cup (both 2015). Manpreet has also been part of the side that triumphed over New Zealand in the 2015 Test series.
